Welcome to Singdean, our informal luxury B and B suite with private outdoor hot tub and sauna is in Singdean, situated in the Scottish Borders on the edge of Northumberland, on a gorgeous stretch of road with wonderful views, in a 700 year old stone 'byre'.
We also have a boutique where you will find a lovely informal collection of European clothing, footwear and accessories alongside wonderful Alpine interior home wares such as snuggle slippers, woollen blankets and big beautiful candle holders. We are situated a few miles away from Europe's largest 'dark sky' (with nothing in between).
You will find us high up in the hills and woodlands of the Scottish Borders, 345 meters above sea level, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, providing a peaceful, relaxing and informal break. We are completely off grid. We produce all of our electricity through solar panels, our water comes from a private spring and our hot water and heating come from our log burner.
As the daylight disappears, the stars take their turn on the stage. The Milky Way is often on view and with no light pollution at all, situated in the largest dark sky in Europe, the sky at night around Singdean is truly breathtaking. You can see the stars like you've never seen them. If you're lucky, you may see the Northern Lights from just outside of your room where you can then shortly be tucked into your cosy room and enjoying your relaxation.
The closest village is Newcastleton and the nearest towns are Hawick (home of cashmere) and Jedburgh ( a lovely sleepy town with an abbey ruin and an amazing butcher). One thing to note is that these towns have the nearest petrol stations. If you are travelling from the M6, the last petrol station is in Longtown, on the A7.
